Marche du Nain Rouge
Design by Claire Nelson (2010)
This was a fun one. An opportunity that comes around only once a century or so, really. Again, another case of me inserting myself in a no-budget project that needed a graphic identity. For the unfortunate souls who did not partake, the Marche du Nain Rouge is an old Detroit tradition revived by Francis Grunow, Joe Uhl, Patrick Thompson, Vince Keenan, Bill Swanson, the Brothers Stella and all their crazy friends in the Cass Corridor in March 2010. A little bit of street theater (ala Carnivale or Mardi Gras) to banish the "evil dwarf" (Detroit's pesky harbinger of gloom & doom) and rejoice a new beginning. A good time was had by all, and hopefully the celebration will carry on far into the future.
