When I first opened Bureau, I would go to Eastern Market on Wednesdays to buy fresh flowers and then put them out in buckets in front of the shop. I would end up throwing away more than I would sell, so eventually (sadly) I had to give them up. So when the lovely Lisa Waud approached me about selling roses during Valentine's Day from her gorgeous new floral design shop Pot & Box, I couldn't resist. She was so kind to come all the way from Ann Arbor to deliver them, and even moreso to donate the remaining bouquets to raise money for Aids Partnership Michigan. We got the credit -- and the joy of living with beautiful flowers for a few days in February. But really, it was all Lisa.
